Large expansion

A large expansion is a set of Magic: The Gathering cards that contains more than 200 cards and introduces the themes, story, and mechanics for the block named after it. Small expansions follow large expansions and may or may not contain the same themes and mechanics introduced in the large expansion. This set is the first of its block and includes basic lands. However, Rise of the Eldrazi is planned to be a large expansion despite being the third in the Zendikar block. Nothing more is known of it's composition, however.
