Land destruction can refer to either a card that destroys lands or a deck with a main goal of destroying its opponent's lands. This strategy is uncommon as land destruction cards are not fast and it would take a good deal of land destruction cards for it to be viable. Black, Red and Green have seen the most land destruction cards. The cheapest costing land destruction card is Raze. One of the first printed is black's Sinkhole and red's Stone Rain. Stone Rain is the most reprinted land destruction card. It has been printed in every core set, Portal and Starter sets, Ice Age, Mirage, Tempest and Champions of Kamigawa.

Besides spells that destroy lands, there are lands and artifacts that destroy lands. The lands are powerful and have seen play in tournament decks. They are Strip Mine and Wasteland. The artifact Ark of Blight can destroy any land and be played by any color.

[edit] Mass land destruction

There are a couple of land sweeper cards (i.e., that destroy all lands), such as white's Armageddon and red's Bust. There are also cards which destroy all lands of a particular type, such as blue's Acid Rain and red's Flashfires.

Even with all of the land destruction available, it is still considered a slow option for a viable deck.
