Teysa Karlov was a high ranking human member of the Orzhov Syndicate during and after the Decamillennial.
She was a scion of house Karlov, one of the most respected Orzhov families. Teysa mostly worked as a prestigious lawmage ("advokist") until she was promoted to baroness of the Utvara Reclamation Zone. There she was involved withing Zomaj Hauc's plans to control Ravnica, but with a assembled force of warriors recruited from various sources and guilds, and her arcane knowledge used to control a dragon, she helped to stop Hauc for good. This helped her secure her power in the area, and gain the respect of all the inhabitants, reaffirming her position as Baroness.
Later on, she was called by Feather as her advokist, and became involved in the nephilim attacks, and the events regarding the return of the Parhelion.
Finally, it is revealed that she was very involved in the elaboration of the new (and non-magical) Guildpact.
