Red Coats instead of Red Shirts -_- How silly of me The Squirle master
Heh, well, maybe they were british too... heh. One of the redshirts is confusing tho... mentions she was the 'steer' of the ship? I think you just phrased it oddly.CVestDan 09:51, 16 May 2006 (CDT)
Its not so much that I phrased it in a weird way, just that I thought I knew the english word for it, but I gues I didn't. What is the english word for the person who steers the ship when the captain isn't? The Squirle master
Did they really wear Red Coats or is this just a Star Trek joke? If it's just a joke, though it is funny, it ought to be changed. Randel 11:14, 16 May 2006 (CDT)
"Red Shirts" is indeed originally a Trek reference, but it is commonly understood enough in english vernacular to be used, and it has been used in reference to other random crewmembers for a long time.VestDan 19:42, 16 May 2006 (CDT)
Do we want this to be a reference page? I understand the joke but for someone who doesn't, they may actually be lead to believe that the 'other' crewmembers were clad in red. If this is to be a reference page, we don't need any extra outside jokes unless those jokes were made within the story already. Randel 21:50, 16 May 2006 (CDT)
- I agree with Randel here, not everyone gets the reference and even as a part of mainstream popular culture, it has nothing to do with Magic. Oracle of Truth 15:13, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
