Aren't the spirits used by the Orzhov Syndicate a type of undead?--Japoniano 18:18, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'd say that spirits are a type of undead. But the current definition has to be updated, since a spirit is neither a corpse nor remains. Oracle of Truth 19:18, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
- It's a tricky question... spirits are considered undead in D&D, which MTG borrows from, but in other fiction they're usually considered separate. Odylic Wraith was originally an Undead, and it's an incorporeal spirit (but not a Spirit creature in-game). On the other hand, kami are definitely not undead, since they were never mortal.--Filby 01:11, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
- Spirits as undead is a senseless concept to me. When someone dies, his spirits leaves the body, and no matter if his spirit goes to some afterlife realm or is left on a world, he's dead. As for Kami, they acted more like elementals (maybe just more conscious at times). WotC likes to complicate things. --MORT (T) 02:51, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
