[edit] Online history

sneakyhomunculus has been a part of the community since October 2003 when he registered on MTGNews.

[edit] Moderatorship

More than three thousand posts later, had made the jump to MTG Salvation, where Xenphire made him a moderator of the Clan, Standard and Block forums.

[edit] Global moderatorship

Later he was made a global moderator and held this position until he resigned in June 2005, due to a lack of interest and time. Although he made it clear that he did not have the time for full-time moderatorship, Belgareth convinced him to come back in September 2005. He was reinstated as a Global Moderator, although he did almost no serious moderating in this period and had no specific forum assigned to him. The following December, he return to full activity and returned to moderating several forums.

[edit] Administratorship

In January, 2006, sneakyhomunculus was promoted to the post of administrator, together with urzassedatives, as replacements for Feyd_Ruin and rancored_elf, who temporally stepped in to assist Goblinboy. As a result this once again created a "Three Admin System" at MTG Salvation, for the first time since Wolfwood, Sakabatou and Belgareth ran the site after the collapse of Xenphire. This situation lasted until Goblinboy left the staff in June 2006.

urzassedatives and sneakyhomunculus decided to not appoint a third admin for the time being and went on together.

[edit] Resignation

On the 6th of February, 2007, sneakyhomunculus submitted the following post:

Dear... everybody who will be reading this.

I have decided to resign as an administrator of MTGSalvation. Although I have had a great time on the staff, I think it's time to pass to torch to someone else. Adding some fresh blood and giving someone the chance who has new ideas and is willing to put a lot of time into this great site. Personally I found it getting harder and harder to combine the responsibilities of the admin job with my personal life and aren't really willing to do so anymore. I have already discussed this with my fellow admin and hannes and seds will announce the new admin later today. I'm sure he will do a great job and I have every fate in him being perfect for the position.

While this decision may seem sudden, it has been a long time coming and has nothing to do with some recent event, with all the brilliant guys on the staff, with some drama or the site in general. It's been a great ride the last couple of years and I think we have done a lot of good together, but everything needs to end sometime. I have had a blast of a time being your admin and loved flaming, suspending and banning all of you, but now the time has come to do something else with my time.

So take care everyone. Thanks for making this a grand time. Keep enjoying your time on Sally and maybe I will see you again some day.

Special thanks goes out to a specific few:
Hannes, Feyd, seds and everybody at the mod squad past and present. It was great working with you all. I promise I will not forget the GRRRRR.
My palls {sic} at BLAME. I promise I will check in now and again when I have something to say.
Everybody at MTGsneakyhomunculus. Seriously... there was a secret thread subforum!
Various cool and nice people who I'm bound to forget in this post, but I hope you know that I mean you.
Kroen, TFE, and friends. It's been fun.

Goodbye and goodnight!

With this post, sneakyhomunculus revealed that his intention to retire was not due to a recent epiphany, but rather a thought he had had for a while. Soon after, sneakyhomunculus signed out, his "Administrator" title was removed, and he was de-admined; later, Lesurgo, who was selected by sneakyhomunculus, urzassedatives, and Hannes, was admined.

[edit] Reputation

For the longest time, sneakyhomunculus was probably the least known moderator on the staff, because of his low activity until recently. Because he wasn't a moderator for an specific active forum, and because most of his work goes on behind the scenes in the Mod Cave, he remained one of the lesser known staff members. That said, sneakyhomunculus does have several well-known trademarks, which are apparent to the more experienced members. Most famous are his kittybread smiley and avatars, which he has been using since back at MTGNews. He has also been noted for his use of words like "geezer", "kiddo" and "jazz", and his love for tea and good music.

sneakyhomunculus has been criticized for his demodding of older staff members like Senori, for his 'un-Admin-like posts', which sometimes borders on spam and flaming, and most famously, for his banning of the notorious user The Fallen Evincar.

[edit] MTGsneakyhomunculus

sneakyhomunculus is the founder of MTGsneakyhomunculus, a special "subforum" and pseudo-clan in the Testing Grounds. He has been nominated for three categories in the 2006 MTG Salvation Forum Awards, and won the Best Moderator and Best Member title.

[edit] Clan affiliation

He is a member of the BLAME and was a member of the now defunct The Clan Clan and has written an article for MTGSalvation.

[edit] Achievements

During his time as an admin, sneakyhomunculus and his peers have tried to restructure the MTG Salvation staff and Forum Rules and solve the various organizational problems that still existed as a result of the bumpy beginning of MTG Salvation. During his reign he has replaced various inactive moderators for moderators with newer and fresher ideas, restructured the forum layout to give more attention to Magic Storyline and created the Water Cooler Talk forum to fill a vacuum that the Outside Magic split left. Together with the rest of the staff, he rewrote the Forum Rules, to change the way the Warning System works, making it clearer and stricter, but also making warnings more time-based and less number based. He tried to push the Wiki, helped restructure The Colosseum, and suggested a rebirth of Team MTGS. He is the initiator of the "Currently Suspended/Banned List", the Irregularly Returning Feedback threads, and the 2006 MTG Salvation Forum Awards.

He has been a continuous supporter of the Blog Forum, and has always been searching for new niches for MTG Salvation to thrive in.
