Mega-mega cycle
From MTG Salvation Wiki
A mega-mega cycle is a cycle similar to a mega cycle in that its component cards exist in separate sets, but stretched out among multiple blocks.[1]
[edit] List of mega-mega cycles
- Angels: Each of these uncommon 2/2 angel creatures has a casting cost of

, has flying and protection from a certain color, and has flavor text with excerpts from "The Song of All", a fictional text sacred to the Serra religion — Voice of Grace and Voice of Law were printed in Urza's Saga, Voice of Reason and Voice of Duty were printed in Urza's Destiny, and Voice of Truth was printed in Nemesis. Later, the card Voice of All, an angel with protection from a color chosen at casting time, was printed in Planeshift as an homage to the cycle.
- Atogs: Each of these 1/2 atog creatures was based on Atog, printed in Antiquities before the introduction of the block model, and grew more powerful when its controller gave up a certain resource — Foratog was printed in Mirage, Chronatog was printed in Visions, Atog was reprinted in 5th Edition, Necratog was printed in Weatherlight, and Auratog was printed in Tempest.
- Four-letter flavor text cards: Each of these cards have flavor text consisting solely of a word with only four letters — Ray of Command ("Heel.") was printed in Mirage, Goblin Recruiter ("Next!") was printed in Visions, Mwonvuli Ooze ("Ewww!") was printed in Weatherlight, Jinxed Idol ("Here.") was printed in Tempest, and Cannibalize ("Mine.") was printed in Stronghold.
- Legendary lands: Each of these rare legendary lands represents a location connected to the Weatherlight Saga — Teferi's Isle was printed in the Mirage block, Volrath's Stronghold in the Tempest block, Yavimaya Hollow in the Urza block, Kor Haven in the Masques block, and Keldon Necropolis in the Invasion block.
- Lords: Each of these rare creatures grants +1/+1 and (with one exception) another ability to other creatures of its type — Goblin King and Lord of Atlantis were printed in Alpha, Elvish Champion was printed in Invasion, Lord of the Undead was printed in Planeshift, and Field Marshal was printed in Coldsnap. All but Field Marshal were printed with the now-obsolete Lord type; when they were issued errata to have the same type as the creatures they boosted, their text was changed so that they would not grant the bonus to themselves.
- Tutors: Each of these powerful rare spells allows you to fetch a card from your library — Mystical Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, and Worldly Tutor were printed in Mirage; Vampiric Tutor was printed in Visions; and Gamble was printed years later in Urza's Saga. Goblin Tutor, a joke card patterned after this cycle, was printed in Unglued.
