Guild clan
From MTG Salvation Wiki
Guild clans are clans that are centred on the guilds presented in the Ravnica block.

[edit] History
Ravnica block presented a unique design pattern: ten different philosophies in the ten two-color combinations of the Ravnica Guilds. These guilds were an easy way for newer members of MTG Salvation to identify with a clan.
Previously, most clans had been based off interpersonal friendships between members. The ten identities of the guilds of Ravnica allowed newer or unsure members to be more confident that they could "belong" in the clan that they chose. They would not have to worry as much about being a newcomer, since they would already be confident that their personality and preference matched the guild that defined the clan.
[edit] Controversy
Ravnica block's popularity made it easy to create or join a guild clan. Many members felt that the demise of the guild clans was inevitable once Ravnica block passed; though some of the guild clans have changed or completely dissolved, not all of them have.
It remains to be seen if the guild clans will survive the popularity of the Ravnica block, especially its presence in Standard. Because of these concerns, some felt that the guild clans were highly transitory and ephemeral, like "flings", unbefitting for clans on MTG Salvation.
Perhaps because of the ease with which new and/or inexperienced members joined the guild clans, other accusations have been leveled against guild clans. These include a tendency for spam, low member commitment, and high member and clan turnover rate.
