Feature Card Contest
From MTG Salvation Wiki
The Feature Card Contest is game which runs each month in which MTG Salvation members create custom cards.
The FCC runs every month, and is run by a rotation of the moderators of the Custom Card Creation forum. Anyone may join the FCC, but the cut-off of players usually sits around 100. Each round has judges, typically around 10, which judge the competition.

[edit] Rules
Players are required to sign up to the FCC at the end of the month prior to that month's competition. The first round will typically start the first day of the month, with a new thread. This thread will have that round's card creation challenge, of which player's must follow in order to qualify for that round. Once the player has designed his card, he or she must wait until the end of that round (roughly the end of the week). Once the round has closed, judges will post their judgings, and players will see who proceed to the next round in the competition.
The first round of every competition will not be single matched, but rather groups of ten players in which the best four will be advance to the next round. This change occurred recently as a way to reduce workload for FCC judges.
The final round of the FCC also mirrors that of the first round, except that instead of four players advancing, only one player advances and is considered that month's FCC champion.
[edit] FCC winners and prize
Each FCC crowns a winner from a final round of around fourteen players. The FCC winner receives a Trophy which shows his FCC achievement. The FCC winner also recieves his or her own thread within the Card of the Month forum, in which his card is displayed. The card of the FCC winner is also displayed on the front page of MTG Salvation.
There is a "FCC Creator of the Year" category within the MTG Salvation Forum Awards, for the best card created within the twelve rounds of that year's FCC competition.
[edit] FCC judges
FCC judges are volunteers who are typically veterans of the FCC competition. These judges are experienced players who judge the custom cards of the FCC each round and decide who advance to each round. The FCC Judges have a discussion threads in which the discuss issues regarding the FCC competition, and in which prospective judges can come if they wish to judge. Judges are volunteers and do not receive compensation or prizes for judging.
