Stan lives in Eugene, Oregon with his wife Kerry and his cat Riker. He enjoys watching movies, playing games of all sorts, and going out to eat with friends.

Stan is a game designer for Buzz Monkey Software, though he started as a programmer. His credits can be found in games such as NFL Street 3 for PS2, Tomb Raider Legend for PSP, Tomb Raider Anniversary for Wii, PS2 and PSP, and Tomb Raider Underworld for Wii and PS2. He has been a professional game developer for over four years, and recently finished working on Tony Hawk: Ride for Wii.

Stan has been building video games as a hobby since the age of seven, initially working on the Commodore VIC-20, then on the PC using QuickBASIC and Klik & Play, and finally into college where he learned C++ and 3D programming. He has hundreds of hobby projects under his belt, including Rinth Island 3D Demo and the in-progress GemRogue.

In June of 2009, Stan won Microsoft's Dobbs Challenge Deuce Silverlight game development contest with BlockRogue, a procedurally generated, Sokoban-like puzzle game.

Stan's MTG Salvation activity has been limited almost exclusively to the debate subforums. There he is one of the most prominent Christian apologists, but with a unique and nuanced set of beliefs, including:

Stan is the head administrator at the Magic humor site Good Gamery, where he is known as "paz" -- this stands for "Pagans & Zealots," his first card game creation. He is the lead moderator, a frequent content contributor, and custodian of the self-updating Magic web comic, Pro MTG Online.

Stan's favorite formats are Block and Standard, and tournament successes over the past 8 years have earned him a Constructed DCI rating of 1878 as of January 6, 2009. Notable finishes include:

  • 9th place (5-0-2 Swiss) at 2008 Oregon States
  • 10th place (5-1-1 Swiss) at 2008 Oregon PTQ Berlin
  • 18th place (5-2-1 Swiss) at 2006 Oregon Regionals
  • 11th place (6-2-0 Swiss) at 2005 Oregon Regionals
  • 3rd place (5-0-2 Swiss) at 2003 Oregon PTQ New Orleans (StarCity Games article)
  • Numerous FNM wins
