In real life, Nathan Christner is a reporter. He knows French, though not fluently.

On November 1, 2006, Nathan and his wife Teresa brought Ryleigh into the world.[2] Nathan's mother is a librarian, and his father is in the business/HR manager at the Hutchinson News; he also has two younger brothers, Ryan (four years younger) and Dylan (nine years younger).
