Clan Mono-Black

Clan Mono-Black is an active clan on MTG Salvation and is based around the ideologies of black mana. Members are initiated after they submit an entirely black deck list to be judged by the members. If the members judge the deck "worthy" and is not sorry attempt, the member will be admitted as a Minion who will then climb though the ranks.[Specter, Clan Mono-Black's unofficial mascot. With a new Evincar, valentine1, the 4th thread of Clan Mono-Black had begun, and with a new Evincar, new problems began for Clan Mono-Black. Valentine1, the Evincar was suspended for acquiring three infractions, on of which was imageleeching an image of Necropotence. Upon his suspension, the image was removed and mod text placed in the first post to notify everyone of the infraction.
Upon return, valentine1 acquired enough infractions again to gain suspension, two of which included adding the same, leeched image to the thread and removing mod text. During this suspension, valentine1's brother signed up for MTG Salvation and began posting for valentine1. Both were rapidly banned.
At the very end, this time of Clan Mono-Black became known as "The Tainted Thread", due to the Evincar at the time receiving many infractions, two suspensions, removing mod text, a "spammy" opening post, and a banned evincar. The remaining members decided it was time to move on.
One good thing came from the "Tainted Thread", the creation of a vice-president position. This would later be called the Scion of Darkness. The Scion of Darkness at the time was Sir Auron25. He would be voted in by his members to be the next Evincar of Clan Mono-Black.
[edit] Four Words to Choke Upon: We Are [Clan Mono-Black]
With the "Tainted Thread" behind them and a new Evincar leading the way, the fifth thread of Clan Mono-Black began, and with it a new surge of friends flocking to the thread and a new-found alliance with The Izzet, forming the second wave of Triple Alliance, with Clan Mono-Black replacing the fallen Cult of Rakdos.
Shortly after the beginning of the fifth thread, Sir Auron25 created the Clan Mono-Black tournaments, as a way of promoting inter-clan unity. The contest was intended for allies as way to slowly incorporate other clan as the idea spread. However, this proved to be to slow of a plan as other clans became interested. The first tournament was held at the end of 2008 and became called the "[Clan Mono-Black] 2008 Standard Championship" and was held on MagicWorkstation.
During this thread, the speculation and disappointment of the Grixis Shard took place, yet were redeemed with Nicol Bolas in Conflux. On the wings of our true deity, Nicol Bolas, the Clan of Darkness flew to the sixth thread.
[edit] [Clan Mono-Black] MtgSalvation's Most Ancient Evil
With the release of the god of the Triple Alliance, Nicol Bolas, the sixth thread of Clan Mono-Black began. Currently, the clan is voting in 2009's first clan contest, Survivor. Their entry, Nyxathid was eliminated. Clan Mono-Black was assigned Ravenous Baloth for Clan Contest 2:Endurance and built a Beast-Themed Rock deck with it. Clan Mono-Black won the most votes for the Spike Category, but received no other votes and did not win the contest. Clan Mono-Black bid on their own deck, BalothRock, by lowering their starting cards and life totals to 5 cards/25 life, which was enough to win the deck for the Clan Contest 3 Tournament. Clan Mono-Black's submitted deck received the lowest bid, most likely attributed to its status in the Spike Category from Clan Contest 2. Sir Auron25 will most likely represent the clan in the upcoming tournament.
The next Clan Contest brought a scavenger hunt. While Clan Mono-Black did win the "Pillow Fort" category for SGT_Chubbz submission, the clan did not place highly.

The position of Scion of Darkness was created by valentine1 during the "We are Eternal [Clan Mono-Black] thread. After valentine1 had been banned, Sir Auron25 stepped up after a thread of problems. Sir Auron25 opted to keep the second in command position in place, but changed the name when to fit the Clan Mono-Black theme. However, the Scion of Darkness is not automatically the next Evincar should the previous Evincar resign. Elections will still be held.

The Un-official Mascot of Clan Mono-Black is Hypnotic Specter, as it has found its way to the first post of every Clan Thread until the most recent. He was usurped by Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker's art during Conflux and Alara Reborn in a time where the Triple Alliance was revisited heavily and a new sense of pride was formed. Now, the sadistic vampire Sorin Markov is representing The Clan of Darkness.
[edit] Clan Tournaments
Originally, Clan Mono-Black held a standard tournament that was intended for members of Clan Mono-Black and its allies. This was to promote more inter-clan unity among the allies of Clan Mono-Black. Originally, the contest was intended to slowly spread to all the clans, but immediately members from other clans showed interest.

Clan Mono-Black is currently planning on holding the 2nd Clan Mono-Black tournament. It will be most likely be held in December of 2009. A thread will be posted prior to the tournament in the testing area to vote for the format.

Clan Mono-Black has formed an alliance with The Pack. The Pack are flavor lovers, and black mana can easily be one of the most flavorful colors. Unofficially speaking, the the Pack and Clan Mono-Black fit the Jund colors.

[edit] The Triple Alliance

The Triple Alliance was originally The Izzet, The Cult of Rakdos, and House Dimir. However, the Alliance was fractured when the Cult of Rakdos fell due to inactivity. In 2008, under Evincar Sir Auron25, the Izzet invited Clan Mono-Black to replace the fallen Cult of Rakdos in the second wave of the Triple Alliance. Though moderators have ceased the exchange of clan contest votes between the members of the Triple Alliance to stack against one contestant, there is still a sense of pride and power among members when one hears the the words: "The Triple Alliance."
