Then known by Charlie Donaldson, CharlieD became a member of MTG Salvation in May of 2005.
[edit] Selenya Conclave
He did not post much after becoming a member of the long-dead Selesnya Conclave; he soon left after beginning to actively post and soon became a respected member of the Boros Legionnaires. He also became a member of the World Project, "Straight Outta Crooklyn", run by The Fallen Evincar.
He moved on from the Boros to become a friend of Project Mayhem; his posting soon moved them to abolish the member-limit rule and initiate him as a member. Somewhere in between Charlie began making banners in Photoshop and joined Oasis and Faust's Drive Thru Sig Shop. After leaving this shop, he became a member of Infinity with Avatar. The shop didn't work out, however. Charlie closed the shop after Avatar left and was a member of Stardust Siggies and the elite sig shop, Hallucinogen Graphics. He also entered Weekly Contests; coming second in a few of them and winning week 27 with his drawn "Zoo" banner.
[edit] Project Mayhem and Elitist
CharlieD left Project Mayhem, after most of his friends there left; however, after some posts by Feuerdrache, he decided to stay with Project Mayhem until they got on their feet again. He is a friend of Elitist.
CharlieD's decisions may have been influenced by the rough times in his life; CharlieD was finding it hard to come to terms with the death of his grandmother on the 19th of March, 2006.

CharlieD had been participating in the past two "Battle of the Users" contests on MTGsalvation, run by Spanglegluppet. He lasted until the Preliminary Finals in a shocking 35-17 win for Faust, the winner of BotU #4.
CharlieD won in the final match of BotU #5 against PurpleD. He also won Battle of the Users #7. He is currently the only user to have won the contest more than once.
CharlieD ran the World Project, "Shinigami", taking over from Lord_Rahl. Since then, it and a majority of projects in [[the Colosseum] have died as a result of Coloholics Anonymous, a forum he used to post on, and general inactivity.
[edit] 2006/7
CharlieD created a World Project idea, "Under the Petals". The idea was at first rejected but a few months later he re-applied it and it was accpeted. the WP enjoyed a small amount of activity but eventually was closed down. After creating the Christmas Logo for MTG Salvation in December 2006, Charlie became an official MTG Salvation artist and created banners for articles.
Charlie is a current member of the Called, joining with Yukora in July 2007. He still remains a friend with Project Mayhem.

Charlie is the current champion of the weekly contest, with 15 wins, leading the board by 5 over Topher. Charlie is regarded as one of the best avatar and banner makers on MTG Salvation and it is noted he is also a proficient digital artist, being a finalist in the Young Australian Art Awards with one of his pieces. Charlie is also a photographer, and enjoys drawing, too. Charlie is currently not a member of an avatar and banner shop but has one in the works with FirePenguinMaster.
Charlie has had some disagreements with the avatar and banner community on MTG Salvation, but he yet remains a respected and well-known member. Charlie maintains friendships with many of the artists, including Spanglegluppet, FirePenguinMaster, Watza and Feuerdrache.

He started paying Magic: The Gathering when he was 13, around the release of Fifth Dawn, with the Mirrodin "Wicked Big" theme deck. He currently doesn't play Magic.

He enjoys listening to music such as The Rocket Summer; Coheed and Cambria; Elliott Smith; Mae; Mayday Parade; The Flaming Lips; Death Cab for Cutie; Boston; Chicago; The Beatles; Tegan and Sara; The Strokes; Hellogoodbye; Fall Out Boy; Anberlin; and Ben Folds. He likes to spend his free time either drawing, talking to people, or in the city with his friends. He loves spending time with family. Charlie enjoys tea, music, art, threadless T-shirts and being cool. He is a self-confessed Lion King fan. He also loves anime.
