I'm still wondering, how we will solve some problems like naming articles. Lets say that I want to write about Tawnos. How to show that it's Polish translation? "Tawnos (Polish)"/"Tawnos(Polski)" looks weird, but might be a good way. But then, should we use this way for all translated articles or just for those which names will be exactly the same like original ones?

Tawnos (pl), maybe? Just those which would clash with another article, I guess. MM (talk!) 07:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

I also think that it would be good to make some template which would let you to move to the same articles in other languages. What do you think? ^MOR_T ^(T) 08:15, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

I asked Hannes, and he replied that this is not supported as easily as it is in Wikipedia. Perhaps he misunderstood, but I'm fairly sure that we also cannot get that kind of software running here; on second thoughts, it's not really a surprise, 'cuz every language's Wikipedia has its own website... And what if I want to write article about Mirrodin plane? It have to has its disambig, so according to what I've seen in other translations, name of the article will be: "Mirrodin (plane) (pl)", right? Looks quite weird, doesn't it? Is there any other way? ^MOR_T ^(T) 08:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

What I meant, is that there would have to be two articles for Mirrodin: plane and set.

ok, i'm just wondering if we shouldn't rename this category somehow. I mean, that not all articles will be translations (not all are translations even now - even I've created Polish articles which aren't in English yet). [edit] Other Language Namespaces?

Why just dont create new Custom Namespaces for every Language (eg German: and German Talk:) - this would make the whole thing easier and prevents getting non-English Articles on the random feature. --Hó-òh Diskussion 05:45, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Mmh, i think, actually, you can implement the Namespaces in *the generic search* - so you can find articles in other languages with the search; but whatsoever, making new namespaces are a bigger project, we must ask the webmaster to do this - you must change some files that you cannot change within the wiki interface - but its just a suggestion we can talk about ;) --Hó-òh Diskussion 12:27, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki family?

Would it be possible to install a whole wiki family like it is done with Wikipedia? Basically we would have one wiki for each language. This would solve all namespace conflicts, make searching easier and it would be possible to link articles via interwiki links.Oracle of Truth 00:17, 7 February 2008 (GMT)

But to make effective use of that template, I think, we must have standartized PageNames for the Translated Article, like Namespaces or suffixes, but the original English Article Name must be in there .. if this is OK, I'll write a Template you can put on bottom of an article which will show you, which translations are available. --Hó-òh Diskussion 01:02, 25 August 2008 (EDT)

That could be a problem, since Polish and Czech each use a different approach, that is appending a designation vs. translation. Oracle of Truth 05:02, 25 August 2008 (EDT)

For German that wouldn't be an issue, since we are the only contributors so far. Let's see what the others think about this. But then you could always make the article accept custom parameters. Oracle of Truth 07:11, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

Polish articles are translated if it's possible, but if not (names), they have postfixes. Czech articles all have English name with (cz) postfix - I really wouldn't like to have it that way, but I realise that it would be easier for creating that template. The solution could be using redirects. For each translated article we could create an english redirect with specific postfix.
