Benalia City

The seaport of Benalia City was the capital of Benalia and was known for its Seven Pillars, representing the seven ruling clans: Rosecot, Deniz, Tarmula, Ternsev, Capashen (notable as clan of Gerrard Capashen, the hero of the Weatherlight saga), Joryev and Croger. The city had a population exceeding 200,000 and was the largest city in Aerona. The prevailing religion was the Church of Angelfire, of which over one fifth of all Benalkin identified as members. This was due to its similarity to the Church of Serra, whose worship of the planeswalker Serra was condemned in Benalia. During the Phyrexian Invasion, Benalia was the first nation victimized by Tsabo Tavoc's specialized killers. By 4300 AR, Benalia City was in the process of being slowly rebuilt.

During the era of the Time Spiral crisis, Benalia City was besieged by slivers. It weathered the attacks, however, and eventually became the seat of New Benalia.
