A Planeswalker's Guide to Alara is the first style guide in the new Planeswalker's Guide series. It is written by Doug Beyer and Jenna Helland. It was published on September 2, 2008.
The guide is written in an in-universe style, however while its content is canon, the book itself does not (i.e. it does not exist in the multiverse).[1]

The guide begins with an introduction and a brief overview of Alara and the five Shards it split into. Then each plane is described in detail in its own section. Finally, there is a section about the planeswalkers residing on Alara.
